Fast Track Your Learning Curve from Founder to CEO

It takes ideas, drive and tenacity to start a company. It takes communication, alignment, a healthy work culture and leadership soft skills to build a great company.

Being an entrepreneur and founder takes resilience and guts of steel. I understand the pressure you're under - from your Board to make the best decisions, from your investors to make good on their money, from your family to spend more time with them, from your friends to get out once in a while. The pressure is never going to go away, but how you work with it can be empowering and productive.

I get founders to understand and harness their natural power base and use it to fuel their success and build the right team for you - one that supports your specific talents. I call it learning to focus on what only you can do. From our first day together, we'll be fast tracking and setting you and your company up for rapid success.

A Holistic Approach

My approach considers the contextual relationship between the individual as a leader and the leadership needs of the organization. I listen carefully, take information in, ask questions, understand objectives and problems. I'm direct and pragmatic, generous and sharing, and accompany advice with real-life experiences and best practice scenarios. I believe there are always multiple ways to get to a result and all of us have to use our natural skills and styles to get there in a way that works for us. I teach my clients how to use speed and efficiency without trading off data analysis and thoughtful decision-making. I use humor to remind everyone that life is long and we’re human, and excellence, rather than perfection is the better goal.  I use what I call EI+EX (emotional intelligence + experience) to teach you how to handle stress, communicate clearly and concisely, see around the corners to create opportunities out of challenges – in essence, how to build great companies.

Some Things I Believe In

1. Don’t overthink it. See # 2.

2. Everything is fixable.

3. Speed matters, sometimes it’s better to be fast than right.

(With apologies to Lou Gerstner.)

4. You can't do everything at 100%. 50% of you is better than 200% of most people.

5. Be transparent to those whom you lead. Transparency breeds trust, loyalty and teams.
